Augustana, located in Sioux Falls, SD, is a private university founded in 1860 and currently enrolls more than 1,600 students. Their multi-year strategic plan focuses on a new and enhanced facilities that will serve the educational, spiritual and holistic needs of Augustana's students and staff, as well as inspire others in the community who utilize the campus.
The first phase includes the new South Residence Hall with 208 beds and shared multi-purpose spaces that will incorporate both living and learning environments for faculty and students. BLUvera's innovative Light Gauge Structure System provided several solutions for Augustana including schedule compression and minimizing construction congestion during the school year.
"BLUvera's load bearing wall system saved a lot of time," said Senior Project Manager, David Thorson. "Not only on the structure, but on the enclosure as well. The wall panel installation was one of the easiest structures I have ever seen."
A very special thanks to Mortenson, KWK Architects, and TSP Engineers on this collaborative project.
